My first thought is does Chine have what it take to take that title away from the USA and why. I could care less about the progress of other nations when ours is slipping as hard as it is.
I think everybody should remember China was playing by our rules. The anger should be against the politicians and companies that have zero concern for the hand that feeds them. Also there are no Chinese warships in the Gulf of Mexico. Granny said sweep around your own doorstep first. I volunteered during Vietnam but if i knew then what i know now i would have done what 99.9% of our politicians did. Our own allies sell the Chinese our secrets.
I don' think that the Chinese Communist Party is up to it ultimately. Its dictatorial leadership style and ability to adapt to the digital age will ultimately bring about its own demise.
Its ability to keep a clamp down upon free speech will be limited as ways around their surveillance will develop. The only thing that is going to let the Chinese gain any power is if America continues to allow them to. Our foreign policy the past twenty years has not been to our own advantage.
The CCP want war and total world control. They have enough people for endless wars .
We will all just watch this benefit Australia.
